Mo' Bluetooth

In Bluetooth++, I showed the cups bluetooth backend enhancements. Marcel is currenly reviewing those, and should merge the code upstream next week. In the meantime, the code is available in bluez-utils-3.11-2.f8 in rawhide.

I've also been working on James' gnome-vfs-obexftp code. While the old code needed you to make hcid launch with the -x option to enable the experimental features (in this case the now-defunct RFCOMM service). Marcel told me it should be using RFCOMM sockets directly, and we now have a version of gnome-vfs-obexftp that works without any tinkering, and is also more reliable, and quicker.

It's also available in the repos for Fedora Core 6, Fedora 7 and rawhide under the name gnome-vfs2-obexftp.

  1. As I don't see a release of the new gnome-vfs-obexftp and the old bzr repo seems to be gone, is there a chance to import this into Gnome SVN?

  2. The upstream bzr repo is at https://code.launchpad.net/~jamesh/gnome-vfs-obexftp/devel

I've already asked James to import it to the GNOME SVN, but he hasn't replied yet...

  3. Thanks. Would be nice to have this in GNOME SVN or even gnome-vfs some day (or gvfs)

So ftp://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/extras/6/SRPMS/gnome-vfs2-obexftp-0.2-6.fc6.src.rpm is the best I can get ATM?

  4. Yep, the source RPM is the best you can get right now. It contains the all important patches :)

  5. Looks like the rpms have been removed from fedora 6 & 7.

  6. Hmm I build from source now, in the hope that it would actually work with my SE K750i, but all I see is (still):

  7. Michael: if you are still having troubles, could you please report a bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-vfs-obexftp.

From the screenshot, it looks like we are only getting root directory listings, which is pretty weird.
